Fraud Alert: Automated Phone Scam
June 13, 2013 - Several of our clients and employees have reported receiving a phone call from an automated system, telling them their debit card has been lost and to press “1” in order to take care of the situation. The message says they are calling from Key Bank. This is a scam. Champlain National Bank will never contact you with an automated message, and you should never give out any information about yourself, your debit card, or your bank account to someone who calls you. Fraud is a rapidly growing problem and we want to make sure our clients know how to protect themselves against these types of crimes.
